{The following is inspired by the fabulous Ali Edward's "A Week in the Life" workshop.}
My Day & Various Job Titles So Far. (It's only 3:53pm by the way.)
-Rooster: First to wake up in the morning and get the family moving. (Do you ever wonder what would happen if you actually just stayed in bed??? And of course you never do, but it's nice to wonder...)
-Coffee...thank the Lord for coffee.
-Littlest Sweet Pea has come down with a fever so...
-Nurse: temperature is only slightly high. Tuck her in with favorite lovies on the couch while tending to the others.
-Chef/Nutritional Consultant: get breakfast ready and make lunch for Sweet Pea #2 and get him off to school with Daddy. (Did I find the perfect mix between healthy lunch and food he'll actually eat?)
-Messenger Service: Make sure Littlest Pea's school project which was due today at school gets sent in with someone else.
Make Littlest Pea soup at 8am because, "it will make my tummy feel better." (of which she had zero bites.)
-Coffee...again, thank you Lord.
-At Home Entrepeneur: Sit down at computer to check inbox and answer a few emails. Check tracking on orders sent out yesterday. Put a few new items onto my etsy website.
Check in with Littlest Pea...nothing a little love won't fix.
-Laundress: Run upstairs to start laundry.
-Housekeeper: Have to get house clean because "house cleaners" are coming. Strip beds, tidy rooms, etc. (Some of you out there understand this, right?)
-Teacher/Art Instructor: Littlest Pea wants a book read to her and then to paint.
-Scrapbooker: Run downstairs to craft room and make two pages while watching Martha Stewart.
-Marathon Runner: Run all the way upstairs again to keep laundry running. Then run back downstairs.
-Pet Caretaker: Clean up and refill kitty cat's area.
-Business Owner: Sit at computer to fill order for calling cards. Check in on a few of my fave blogs and do a bit of business research.
-Handy Woman: SIX lights in our kitchen are out...drag out the ladder to change them.
-Industrial Waste Disposer: Clean out the dried up gunky paint from Sweet Pea's art easel set so they can get filled up to be used again.
Lunch time.
-Professional Dishwasher: Empty from yesterday and refill from today.
More laundry.
And so on...and so on...
Does this sound like a familiar day to anyone out there? And then, when people ask, "What did you do today?" a glazed look sort of comes over your face.
We all wear many hats...I wouldn't trade any of them for a moment. So here's to YOU and YOU and YOU...working hard, non stop, each and every day.
