Twelve "glass" ornaments for my swap at Silver Bella.
Boy were these work, but I'm so pleased with the finished product...I hope my Silver Bella swap partners will be too.
My inspiration came from the latest issue of Somerset Life.
I printed out the vintage illustration and the wording. Cut them to size and then inked the edges. After I glued them together, I sewed a vintage button onto the top, leaving the string long to tie to the top on the ornament topper. Then I filled each empty glass ornament with shredded strips of a paper ribbon strip I'd been saving. The ribbon came from a package I received last Christmas and had xmas song lyrics on it. I curled the ribbon around a pencil and inserted into ornament. Next came the difficult part. I rolled the illustration piece around a pencil to make it narrow enough to insert into the ornament. Talk about having patience! Then using pencils and tweezers I managed to flatten the illustration inside the ornament. Next I strung the illustration through the ornament topper using the leftover string from the button. Reinserted the topper and tied pieces of burlap and my FAVORITE aqua silk ribbon from One Hundred Wishes.
Tah Dah!
