snowfall...

when you are 8 years old...

you sleep

with your p.j.'s

inside - out.

and you take

ice cubes

and flush them

down the toilet.

you cross your fingers

and your toes.

all in the hopes

that when

you wake up...

you'll see

snow falling

and be filled with

delight!

being brave...

there are so very many reasons why

we lose our way.

stumble down a bumpy path.

get lost in the deep, dark woods.

we find ourselves simply

surviving.

frozen.

locked in place.

it's the hardest step of all

to break throught the cold ice.

to find your way out of the woods.

and start living again.

like little blades of grass

that shoot forth from a frozen landscape.

it looks a little painful

doesn't it?

along with 700 plus other beautiful hearts,

i am enrolled in, soul restoration.

learning,

growing,

working,

moving forward.

healing.

this little birdie knows

that the spring thaw

is coming.

i believe it is too.

the loveliest of vintage goodies...

you may remember that back in december i hosted, "a very vintage christmas ephemera swap," with a group of 26 of the loveliest artists you can imagine.

i hope you don't mind one more step back to december

while i show you some beautiful eye candy from the swap...

without further ado...

i present, "a very vintage christmas ephemera swap,"...

i was thrilled to find on ebay a huge roll of vintage department store shiny brite wrapping paper. there was enough on the roll that i was able to sew 26 large envelopes for each swap participant to hold all the treasures.

i included a little "players pack" of the various business cards and tags that each player sent...

this is what the received treasures looked like...

can you believe that these girls each sent 26 of the goodies you see here?

this perfectly petite little mushroom was sent by the fabulous amy powers...swoon! and she even sent one for my mama who was visiting at the time! love that!
