i've been a busy sewing bee in the craft room, finishing up my Remains of the Day journal. Mary Ann Moss is truly a gifted instructor and I've SO enjoyed her style.
the front cover:
i used fabric remnants, wool felt, seam binding, vintage velvet ribbon and loads of vintage lace scraps I've been saving for that "something special..."

I included a page from a vintage children's book that had a lovely bird engraving...
a few more close-ups: loving the contrast between the luxe and the shabby, the new and the worn...
next up: the inside "signatures" -or- pages.

It's absolutely beautiful! I'm doing the ROD class as well...having the best creative time doing it! Still working on my signatures.....I guess I'm too picky...but they are taking me forever! I don't get how others are whipping them out so fast! LOL!
The colors and shabbiness of your journal is just so romantic!
